Dr. Gentner is professor of psychology and of education and social policy at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. She is also the director of the Cognitive Science Program at Northwestern.

Dr. Gentner's research interests include learning and thinking; Analogy, Similarity and Metaphor; Concepts and Conceptual Structure; Language and Cognition; Language Acquisition and Cross-linguistic Studies.
