Stephen C. Lee, JD


Stephen is an in-house intellectual property attorney with Target Corporation (Minneapolis, MN).   Prior to joining Target, he was a partner and associate with the intellectual property law firm Fish & Richardson P.C. (Minneapolis office) from 2000-2003, and prior to that, he was an associate in the intellectual property group of the Faegre & Benson LLP law firm also in Minneapolis from 1995-2000.   Stephen is a graduate of The University of Texas in Austin, where he received both his undergraduate and law degrees.

Stephen's legal practice encompasses a wide range of intellectual property areas including copyrights, trademarks and patents.   His practice also includes many business transactional components including drafting and negotiating Internet and technology contracts, licensing, advertising review, sponsorship agreements, intellectual property audits, due diligence review and other types of agreements.

Stephen regularly gives legal presentations and guest lectures both internally at Target and throughout both the legal and academic communities in the Twin Cities.   He also serves as a member of a number of legal, business and civic organizations including the following: International Trademark Association (subcommittee chair), American Bar Association (Intellectual Property Law Section), American Intellectual Property Law Association, Minnesota Intellectual Property Law Association, Minnesota State Bar Association (Internet Law Committee), Twin Cities Committee on Minorities in Large Law Firms (board member), American Marketing Association, Minnesota Interactive Marketing Association, Advertising Federation of Minnesota and the National Association of Asian American Professionals (Minnesota chapter board member)
